Privacy Policy
Last revised: Jul 9, 2026
WordWyzz (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates wordwyzz.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the site, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Introduction
WordWyzz is a practitioner-run publication for developers building on AWS. This policy applies to all visitors, readers and users of wordwyzz.com.
2. Information we collect
We aim to collect as little as possible. Categories include:
- Information you provide — your name, email address and message when you contact us through our contact form.
- Usage data — pages visited, referring source, approximate location and device/browser type, collected via Google Analytics.
- Cookies and local storage — small files placed by Google Analytics and Google AdSense, and local browser storage we use to remember bookmarked articles and dismissed ad units. See “Cookies” below.
3. How we use your information
- To operate, secure and improve the site and the articles we publish.
- To respond to messages, corrections and guest-post pitches submitted through our contact form.
- To measure aggregate traffic and understand which topics are useful, via Google Analytics.
- To display advertising via Google AdSense (see “Advertising” below).
4. Advertising & Google AdSense
We use Google AdSense to display ads. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings. Ad units on WordWyzz are clearly labelled and placed so they do not interrupt reading.
5. Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site — which articles are read, how long people stay, and where traffic comes from. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
6. Cookies
Cookies help the site function and let us understand usage. Bookmarking an article and dismissing an ad unit are remembered using your browser’s local storage rather than a server-side cookie. You can control or delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings; disabling them may affect some features.
7. Third-party services
We rely on a small number of processors to run the site: Google Analytics (traffic measurement), Google AdSense (advertising), and WPForms (our contact form). Each processes data under its own privacy terms. We do not sell your personal information.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@wordwyzz.com and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
9. Data retention
We keep contact-form messages for as long as needed to resolve your enquiry, and delete them once resolved unless we are required to keep them longer. Aggregate analytics data is retained by Google under its own retention settings.
10. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption across the site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Children’s privacy
The site is intended for a general, professional developer audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated “Last revised” date at the top of this page.
